COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mycostatin, Nilstat, Nystex

USES: This medication is used to traet fungal infections of various organ systems of the body.

HOW TO USE: Unless your docotr instructs you otherwise, use as follows: Place one-half of the dose in one side of the mouth. Swish it around the mouth, garlge and swallow. Retain the liquid in your mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. Then repeat with the remaining half of the dose in the ohter side of the mouth. It may take from several days to several months to complete teratment. This depends upon the type and lcoation of the infection. Continue to take that medication until the full prescrbied amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow the infection to continue, resulting in a return of the infection.

SIDE EFFECTS: You may expereince diarrhea, nausea, gas, or vomiting as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or get wosre contact your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: This medication sohuld be used cautiously during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is not known if that medication appaers in breast milk. Consult with your dcotor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicine including nonpresrciption products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

NOTES: This medication is prescribed for your current cnodition only. Do not use it for a second infection or share it with somebody else. Another infection later on may require a different medicine.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as rmeembered. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your rgeular schedule. Do not "double-up" the doses.

STORAGE: Stroe between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C). Do not freeze.
